1 Where is Thar Oasis located?
Amidst the deserts of Rajasthan, on Jodhpur-Jaisalmer highway, lies a majestic oasis, Thar Oasis Resort, which is a jewel in the crown of Thar Desert. It exudes an unmistakable architectural craftsmanship, which beautifies the serenity of desert.
2 How can I reach Thar Oasis?
Thar Oasis is well connected to the city of Jodhpur by air, train and road transport. You can reach Jodhpur by air or by train as the nearest airport and railway station are located here. From Jodhpur you will have to take a taxi – this can be booked through Thar Oasis in advance or though other taxi operators in Jodhpur.
By Road : Thar Oasis Resort is located in between Jodhpur and Jaisalmer, in Rajasthan province in northwest India. The resort is 130 kilometers from Jodhpur (2 hours drive) and 155 kms from Jaisalmer (2 hours drive) and 200 kms from Bikaner (3 hours drive).

Jodhpur : 130 kms ( 2 hours drive) via Balesar (on N.H 114)
Jaisalmer : 155 kms ( 2 hours drive ) via Pokhran
Bikaner : 200 kms ( 3 hours drive) via Phalodi, Kolu
Udaipur : 410 kms ( 7 hours drive ) via Ranakpur, Jodhpur
Jaipur : 470 kms ( 7 hours drive) via Ajmer, Jodhpur
By Air The closest airport is at Jodhpur which is 130 kms and 2 hours drive from the Resort. Jodhpur is well connected to Delhi and Mumbai with daily flights.
By Rail Jodhpur is the nearest railway station and it is well connected to Delhi, Mumbai, Jaipur and Ahmedabad.
4 Is the resort and camp operational throughout the year?
The Resort is operational throughout the year & The Camp is operational from 1st October to 31st March and closed for the remaining period.
5 What are the activities for guests staying at Thar Oasis?
Desert excursions in the desert around Thar in 4×4 Jeep
Longer excursions to village KHICHAN to see the crane feeding grounds.

Day visit to Jaisalmer and Jodhpur
6 Should I take out travel insurance before visiting Thar Oasis?
An element of personal risk that is of hazardous nature is involved in all the excursions by Jeeps/Camel. Members in such an expedition must accept this risk. Though great precautions are taken to ensure your safety, you must note that some of the optional activities that you may wish to participate in carry various inherent risks with them. Should you wish to take part in them, and you are free to do so, we can assume no responsibility for your safety. You are advised to take out an Insurance policy to cover personal accidents and medical expenses.
7 What are the preferred modes of payment?
You can pay through Cash, credit card, debit card and bank transfer. Travellers’ cheque and personal cheques are not accepted.
8 Where is breakfast served and at what times?
Breakfast is served in our restaurant between 07:00 – 10:00, where we serve Indian and Continental Breakfast.
9 How many restaurants and bars do you have and what are they?
We have only one restaurant and bar, where we serve authentic Rajasthani, North Indian, Chinese and Continental Cuisine. Restaurant timings are 07:00 – 22:00 hrs.
10 Is vegetarian cuisine available in the restaurants?
Yes, wide selections of vegetarian Dishes are available at our restaurant.
11 Is a special menu available for children?
Yes , we do.
12 Do you have 24-hour room service?
No, we don’t provide room service at our resort.
13 Can I connect my laptop in the room??
Yes, you can, also there is a Wifi Facility available at our resort.
14 Do you have an express check out service?
No, we don’t have express checkout service.
15 What newspapers does the hotel receive and can these be delivered to my room?
We have Dainik Bhaskar, Rajasthan Patrika and Times of India which can be provided in the guest room upon request.
16 Are offices available for rent at the hotel?
Yes, we do have a Conference Hall available for rent, depending on use.
17 Is a doctor available at the hotel?
We have a doctor on call facility available at our resort.
18 Do you have non-smoking rooms?
Yes, all our rooms are non-smoking.
19 Do you have rooms with a bathtub?
Yes, we do. All our suite rooms have a Jacuzzi bathtub.
20 Do you offer discounts for a group booking?
For details of the group rates, please contact the Reservation Department.
21 Are your hotel rates per room or per person?
The rates charged are per room although the cost may differ slightly for single, double and triple occupancy.
22 Reception Timings?
Reception is working 24×7.
23 Are all the rooms have attached bathroom?
